My one word for 2016 is:
Consistency.
2015 was a big year for me personally and professionally. I moved to Florida, bought my first home, started a life here, left a job to build my business, adjusted to SAHM of 2 status, became a public speaker, grew my income, returned to coaching… It’s been great, hectic, awesome and cray.
When I look back at the year as objectively as I can, I realize that my results in all areas of my life could be greatly improved with a bit more consistency. I’m a planner, I use my schedule, but I don’t live and die by it. I post here fairly often, averaging a few a week overall, but am not fully consistent with a set posting schedule. I write for others but don’t seek out assignments regularly. I know my coaching schedule would be much fuller….and my merchandise sales higher… if I were consistent with advertising my services.
Consistency brings results. It is what it is.
Not saying I’m not consistent at all. I get what needs to get done, done.

I work out regularly, my kids are on a schedule, I have set office hours for business…
But I’m leveling up for 2016, and consistency is the way to do it.
Two great books I read a while back made the case for consistency in a way my one blog post cant
- The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
- The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson
If you’re interested in growth for 2016 I strongly suggest them. They both share about how those tiny actions that you do each day…the actions so tiny that it wouldn’t really matter that much if you skipped just a day…add up to success, in a big way. And just like with compound interest with your money, the efforts compound to great results…. IF you take those actions.
I learned about these two books from being a beachbody coach. They are very much into personal development, and that is one biz where consistency is everything. You literally earn in proportion to how much effort you put in. I think I may re-read these two over the next few days just for a lil memory and motivation boost.
So 2016 will have a greater focus on consistency. For me this looks like a tighter more steady schedule that allows for all the areas of my life. Consistency looks like taking specific days each week to do certain tasks. It looks like making certain things that I put off, non-negotiable.
2016 is going to be a growth year for me. In biz, in life…and in muscles! 🙂
I’d love to help you make 2016 as kickass as possible too. From now until the end of the year I’m offering my “Power Hour” coaching sessions for 50% off the usual rate. Email me to schedule your call today.

This is so true. And something I struggled with in the past (still do at times). My one word is FOCUS; the sister-friend of consistency lol. Great post!

The struggle is real! I need more consistency in my life and like the idea of little steps daily to get there. Seems less overwhelming.

I definitely am working on consistency going forward. My word for 2016 is faith. Having enough faith to erase any fear that can cause doubt and paralysis.

I couldn’t settle on one word for 2016. So I opted for two- consistent and daring. I’m going to be consistently daring and daringly consistent. Here’s to an even greater and more successful New Year for all of us!
