How is your CALIFORNIA USDA ORGANIC item….made in China?

Is it even organic?

What pesticides etc are they using?

Apparently you can just plop the sticker on any old thing and claim it’s certified organic.

WTF?! Whole Foods, you’ve got some ‘splainin to do!!

This is disturbing. I usually trust the organic label. Hmm.

Whole Foods made a statement last year regarding the shift in the products they were offering to consumers.

Here is a little insight into it here: http://www.truthistreason.net/whole-foods-admits-its-organic-foods-contain-gmos-tries-to-play-victim-haydens-note

As for the labeling well I figured out last year during my nutrition class there is a fine line between labeling and manufacturing. It all depends where the main ingredients were harvested and that countries laws regarding labeling. So from my research with regards to the american market last semester here is how it goes. If a company in california that typically say produces vegetables outsources the growing of said vegetables to a farm in China the farm must meet USDA standards (and apparently they are regulated regularly) but when the vegetables are shipped and sent to the CA company though it says made in china, the CA company is well within right to call it USDA organic veggies. Confusing? A bit. Misleading? Absolutely! My nutrition teacher made us all do a mini project on this last semester. Sucks!

I always had my suspicions about the products at Whole Foods. Too bad for them, I dig their hot food bar!

Such a darn shame! Now talk about misleading. If I had money for Whole Foods, I’ll stop shopping there. However, I know that foods in our local grocery story has to be read as well. A lot of our food comes from somewhere else, even if they call it organic.

Just new ways to make money off of us.
