thoughts on thursday

I feel like all I’ve been doing the past week or so is thinking and planning.

*****

I recently inhaled a couple books on organizing, decluttering and simplifying:
and I re-read

And it inspired me to start paring down further. Then, John and I found an apartment that, though smaller than our current space, is absolutely perfect for our family. So now inspired by the books, and driven by necessity of an impending move to a smaller home, I’m getting our belongings down to a minimum. Feels good…but more on that tomorrow.

*****

Rohan is seriously impressing me. He’s popping out with words left and right, and has so much personality it’s ridiculous. He’s such a character because he knows when he’s doing something cute or funny and will look at us to see if we’re peepin’ it. I curb my language in front of him, but I really have to mind my actions as well because he’s such a copycatting lil mannerism sponge.

*****

After a whole mess of thinking, listing pros and cons, journaling, come to jesus meetings with myself I’ve decided not to change my masters program from counseling to education. I’m just going to change my focus within counseling from marriage and family therapy to something else. I feel good about the decision, and I’ll be starting back in the fall. (with a new baby and a toddler…yikes)

And now to pilfer a great theme from the lovely K. Elizabeth (go check her out)

Thankful Thursday

I have SO much to be thankful for!

My luck is on the upswing. I won two blog giveaways in two days! Shout out to LilThisandThat.com for altering the giveaway prize for me. I’ll be getting a gorgeous bracelet instead of the gorgeous earrings I entered for, on account of I’ll soon have two tiny hands eager to pull dangly earrings right out of my ears! (An even bigger reason to be thankful!)

*****

Finding the apartment with such ease is something else I’m super thankful for. I made a list of what I wanted in the new place, and got everything I wrote down. I’m a little disappointed in myself for not writing more specifics because I know we would’ve gotten them! Can’t wait to move. Ever since moving out of my parent’s house many moons ago, I’ve felt transient. I guess since I knew I’d be moving a lot until I bought my first home, I never really wanted to decorate fully or make an apartment feel like home. For some reason, even though we’re renting this place…I’m pulled to actually decorate it and make it into our home. Feels good.

*****

ย Quick List of Thankfuls:

  • My gorgeous new journal I got from my mama on Xmas, and my iBloom planner.
  • Finding my steam with writing again
  • Making great connections and homeys thanks to a group called Bloggers Like Me (BLMGirls.com)
  • Rohan being so good at entertaining himself sometimes
  • Spending some time at my parents’ house this week. Roey loves his “Gamma” and “Gandad”

What are you thinking about these days, and what are you thankful for lately?

Congrats on finding a new place! I’m thankful that I, like you, am finally getting back in the swing of things with writing. I’m thankful for a new year and a new start…it’s kicked me into high gear and I hope the momentum lasts a while!

I love this post. With a week not going so well it can be easy to focus on the negative. Reading this has made me think about the things I have to be thankful for. Thanks Dani! Congrats on the new place and deciding what career path you want to take. Looking forward to reading more. Mind if I grab the thankful Thursday idea and post it on my blog?

YAY Darrica! Always good to focus on the positive. Yes, I took it from K. Elizabeth at Yummommy.com and I linked to her above. If you take it I suggest you do the same and leave her a note letting her know you’re using it. We gotta be good bloggers!

I’m thankful for my supportive husband, fam, friends & all the FB/ IG ppl who’ve been encouraging me on my weight loss journey. Thankful for the gym having good equipment & bright lights (helps me wake up while I’m there). I’m also extremely grateful for ppl/ bloggers like yourself. All of you ladies unknowingly helped me get started on my healthy living journey not only for myself but for my husband & our future little one(s).

Yes Beginnings. Thanks. Do you go on Pinterest much? So much decoration inspiration that nobody has time to actually make/do LOL

I could live on Pinterest, but my family sadly won’t let me hahaha. I go on, but not as often as I would like. There are so many ideas on there it’s crazy?! (like in a good way)

I’m thankful for the inner joy I’ve been experiencing lately. I’m also thankful that I’ll be getting back into my 1st passion – dance. I’m joining a dance company next week and I couldn’t be more excited! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you! The company is based on Latin dance styles – but mixes in some other styles to keep it fun & fresh ๐Ÿ™‚
