OK… so maybe it’s not an ode, per se, maybe it’s just a blog post…. but…it’s a blog post with love… πŸ™‚

Can we just talk real quick about my life right about now? Let’s see: I’m HUGE. I’m in PAIN. I can barely walk from one end of my apartment to the other without needing to sit and rest at the midpoint. I’m waddling to the bathroom to pee every two seconds. Getting up and sitting down are both extremely time consuming and painful. When something drops on the floor…it stays there….unless Rohan and John are nearby and can pick it up for me.

I’m trying to keep up with Rohan and his endless energy, trying to unpack, decorate, get the house together, pare down, get on John to pare down, prepare for baby girl’s arrival… and not die from exhaustion.

Cleaning is the absolute last thing I want to do…if I could even manage to do it at this point.

John agreed we need to get someone in here to help a bit. I want to have the same person come each time, and our craigslist ad was not giving me the best applicants.

Honestly, the first thing I saw was $20/hr and I was like SOLD! Where do I sign? But I went to Yelp and saw generally good reviews.

This one made me very happy though (especially the bold underlined bit):

Booking was easy on the website. Shakin came and he was really wonderful. He has a very pleasant and friendly nature, so he is great to have around. He asked how I would like things done, and was quick to do everything I asked, just AS I asked. I have a very bad back so cleaning is very hard for me to do now, especially vacuuming and moping.

Β He did a great job and I will have him back.

I’m super particular about how I want things done so I’m glad the folks they send over will be able to do it as I ask.

So I go to the website and am impressed. It’s so easy to schedule online and put in exactly what you want done (cleaning inside oven, windows, walls, laundry etc), with how much longer it’ll take, so you know exactly how much you’ll be paying. No surprises! (We’ve had some uncomfortable surprises from people we’ve hired in the past). You let em know your home size, and when you want them to arrive and BOOM.

You’re done.

I’m excited to use the service. I’m feeling super lazy and need a lil help. Homejoy just makes the whole process so easy and will free me up from attempting to waddle around cleaning, to be able to actually get work done, or handle Roey in a more hands-on way.

I’ll let you know how it goes!!

This sounds fantastic! I’ve used so many cleaning companies and I agree it’d be great to have a consistent team each time especially with baby coming. Can’t wait for your review.

Thanks for sharing, will check them out. As a mom, wife and entrepreneur I understand how hectic life can get, especially when you have a little one. Dropping by from SITS
