It’s Vacay plannin time!!
We decided not to do our honeymoon the week we were initially planning to get married (April 17) because we realized it’s spring break! Drunken teenagers? No gracias!!
So we’re going in May/June. Longer to wait 🙁
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
John and I are discussing, but it’s going to end up with me doing the planning as usual.
He wants Mexico again (of course).
I want….anything that feels somewhat luxurious.
I was hoping to convince him to do something in Jamaica, Virgin Islands or Punta Cana where we had our first vacay together, or even another cruise. I know if I put my foot down on it, he’d let me have my way, but I guess I really don’t care about the country so much as the resort itself, so I’ll keep my foot up for now….maybe.
My only criteria for resort is: 5 star, beautiful beach, jacuzzi in the room, 24 hour room service.
Know of any good places? Do tell!!
I started looking into luxury resorts in Mexico and found this amaaaazing place.
Banyon Tree Mayakoba
Oh.
My.
Good.
God.
You get your own villa
(3000+ sq ft – it’s 4 times the size of our puny apartment!), with your own hot tub and pool…not a lil plunge pool….a pool, pool!!. Lovely!! Plus you have to take a lil boat from the lobby over to your villa.. Too cute.
Lookit:
Sadly it also comes with a budget breaking price
So it’s totally out of the running. whomp whommmp
I then looked at this gorgeous resort:
Zoetry Paraiso
It’s beautiful, and juuuuust within our budget!
It also has great reviews on TripAdvisor (which I’m obsessed with btw)
How gorgeous!!
i’m really into pretty bathrooms |
I’ve heard a lot about the Secrets family of resorts and my bloggy friend Becca told me that this place is awesome:
Secrets Maroma
It looks beautiful also!
i would so love a swimout room! |
The other spot…last one I promise…. is:
Cozumel Palace
We’ve never stayed in Cozumel, but we’ve visited, may be nice for a diving/snorkeling + relaxing vacay.
It also has great reviews on tripadvisor.
Look how pretty:
A lot more places to look into though.
Seriously, I could look at resorts and reviews all day long.
I’ll keep sharing our top picks with ya so we can drool and daydream together, K?
We only have one week for our honeymoon.
Any ideas of where we should go?
Where did you honeymoon and how was it?
Have you done any of the above resorts? How were they?
Help Us!!!

Cozumel Palace looks beautiful! That would be my choice! I haven't gotten married yet, but that would be my pick! Good luck with your search!

OMG I NEED to go to every one of those resorts!! Makes me want a tropical vacation oh-so-much!!
We didn't do a honeymoon because we were both short on vacation time. We stayed in the beach town where we got married from the Wed before the wedding to the Wed after. We discussed doing a big vacation next summer, but at the moment we'd both rather buy a house.
Please keep sharing these pics… LOVE them!!

They all are beautiful. I'm weird about pretty bathrooms too. My bf & I are attemping to plan a vacation. We kind of need something not too expensive, but I am dying to go on another cruise!

I want to go to Tahiti or Bora Bora for my honeymoon. Or what about Costa Rica or Nicaragua? You get a lot of bang for your buck there! Or if you don't mind a longer travel, Brazil! Copacabanga is super nice! Or in Natal, which is Brazil most beautiful area… So many places, only one vacay 😉

If you're going to go to an Island Dani then you need to consider Bermuda. There's no where like it and I should know I'm Bermudian born /raised and reside. Let me know if you want me to send you any links.

These places all look fantastic. I'm sure you will have a great time wherever you go. I say go to Jamaica, but I'm also biased because that's where I'm from. LOL. I'm a new follower by the way #171. I guess you are one step closer to your goal of 300. Hehe. I came across your blog when I clicked on your link from a comment you left on babymakingmachine's blog. Also, I'm totally having baby fever too–my hubby is ready but I'm also chicken 🙂 We'll see!

This is one of my favorite subjects as I love to travel! I love Mexico and have a crush on Excellence Resorts-Playa Mujeres. I loved Tahiti but was turned off by their prices so we're going to Fiji. I have a few posts about some of the places I've come across:

I'm kind of late to the party but it happens!
My favorite place to go if you want a relaxing no frills vacation is Vieques, PR. Its a small island off the cost of Puerto Rico. We have family that live there and its amazing. The beaches are amazing and there are a lot of things to do. We spent a few days in Vieques and a few days in Old San Juan, PR and it was the most amazing trip!
There are a lot of houses to rent that are really affordable but they also just reopened the W resort if you want the resort feeling too!

its off the beaten path, but amazing–and worth it!
