Funny how the messages you need come to you at just the right time.
I clean up the living room twice a day. The second time is right after Rohan goes down to bed. We just woke up, got changed and came out into the living room to play and start our day. Immediately he upended two lil bins, one filled with small toys that rolled everywhere, and one filled with books that honestly I don’t know how he didn’t get a hernia turning this bin over, it’s so heavy!
Anyway, my first thought was, why do I even clean this room?
Second thought was, so Roey has a place to dump his toys!
I just sat down and went to answer emails and look at nonsense on facebook and I saw the graphic above. It was right on time.
F a messy living room.
Roey’s happy and exploring and smiling and singing weird songs to himself. We read in here, we dance in here, Rohan practices his throwing skills in here lol.
That’s what’s important about this room. If I have to play hopscotch to get to the bedroom while my son is up, so be it.
(Note: I may change my opinion, the first time I step on a lego. I hear the pain is worse than childbirth…especially in the middle of the night)
It sounds like you have things in perspective. This quote says it all! Great video on Curly Nikki.
I love the perspective! And yup, it does suck stepping on Legos–any time of the day.
LOL I’m scared. I’m already playing hopscotch over Roey’s toys.
There is no pain like the pain of stepping on Lego or block! i have done so three times. But still the joy of watching my kids play and being able to have fun them overshadows that pain. It’s all part of motherhood. I definitely don’t sweat nearly as many small things as I used to before I had kids. The important things have really come into focus.
