So, maybe I am a glutton for punishment.

A few weeks ago, I was asked for a family photo to be featured in a national outlet….and the best ones I could find were:

They were not useable by the outlet that wanted them, so I had to end up giving them these two:

I mean…I love those pics, they’re totally adorable and we look normal enough, but…

Kaya was 2 and Ro was 4. (they’re now 4.5 and 6.5) I look way different with no hair nowadays, and even so does John who has gotten all keto skinny since then.

It was at this point that I decided that I would get some family photos done around the holidays so we can have an updated and beautiful image together. That sounds good, right? Normal family thing to do around this time of year.

Then I remember these are my children:

And I also remembered that I look like Ludacris almost every time someone takes my photo.

And John like to sabotage photos with his creepy fake smile.

::heavy sigh::

I’m not letting this go though.

Even if I can’t wrangle the kids into submitting and sitting still and smiling pretty for the camera, and even if John does his creeptastic smile, I’m going to get a holiday pic to send out as a card, no. matter. what.

I tell you what, I know I’ll do my part. I’ll be looking wintertime fly in this photo. I’m making sure of it.

I’m getting my hair trimmed and freshly dyed.
Whiten my teeth until they blind someone
Suck my gut in with like 3 pairs of spanx, and
Find a dope outfit to wear so I can serve yuletide realness
Have a makeup artist contour my face until my cheekbones look like they could slice you

Legit, I’ll probably add more to this list as I get closer to the photo shoot.
