I started feeling funky the past few days since I weaned Roey and I really thought I was going crazy with my mood swings. I’d go from normal and happy, to feeling really, really down. Unhappy with everything and almost unable to control my negative thoughts from spiraling out of control. I looked around online to see if this was a normal part of weaning, and on July 4th found out about LifeScript.com.
I took the quiz located at the Depression Health Center and browsed the articles there as well. I read a bit on postpartum depression, and in true Dani fashion, I got sucked into the website and started looking at their diet/fitness, and soul/spirit sections. After reading way too much about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (which I clicked on only cuz I’m annoyed by everyone and their mama saying they have OCD) I remembered the reason I was on the site and went back to the Depression Health Center and took their quiz.
I’m not depressed! Per the quiz. However, after reading up on post partum depression and the forms it takes I realize what I had after having Roey was probably something more than just the “baby blues.” I’m glad I’m out of that fog.
LifeScript.com is set up really well, with lots of informative health articles written my physicians and mental health professionals and I’m always a sucker for sites geared directly at women.
Some of the articles I dug were:
- Avoid Feeling Depressed While Living Alone
- 12 Myths/Facts about Women and Depression (re: PMS & Baby Blues etc)
- Is it Baby Blues or Post Partum Depression?
