Bye bye summer break!
Bye bye 24/7 children making noise in my house. Eating up every single thing. Constantly vying for my attention. Incessantly whining or fighting each other. And questions. All the myriad questions. Time to ask your teacher. Bye bye kiddos!
School starts here on August 12th and I couldn’t be happier about it. Now, I do love my children to bits and I loved our Summer Camp at Home and the way it manifested, but I am ecstatic for school to start and here are 10 reasons why:
Back to School Shopping
Maybe it’s the virgo in me but I absolutely love back-to-school shopping. Clothes, school supplies, art supplies, planners. It’s all just so satisfying for me. It’s full of newness and hope. My mom spoiled me by doing the back to school clothes shopping for my littles but I still get to do the school supply shopping with them. It’s Kaya’s first time. ::wipes tear::
6 Hours of Silence
Since Kaya is starting Kindergarten at the same school as Rohan she’ll be in for full days too. From 8pm to 2pm, Monday through Friday, I will have a quiet house. Six hours a day of pure silence unless I choose to make a sound. OMG It’s glorious just daydreaming about it as I type it right now. I’ll be able to hear myself think!
Time to rededicate to my business
I have not been 100 this year. Starting December of last year through March/April this year I was just going at a snail’s pace business-wise while I considered my next steps. Then this summer I took an intentional departure to just be with the kids more. I am renewed with a sense of purpose and direction in my business and now with two in school I have time to dedicate myself to it once again! (Which reminds me. Feel free to check out the Attractionista 101 ecourse or try the 5-Day Manifesting Breakthrough Challenge. I’m also available for readings, card pulls or manifestation coaching!)
Pilates
I am more excited than I should be that I get to go back to pilates on Mondays and Fridays. It’s at 9:45am and the kids club at that gym is no bueno so I haven’t been to class in months! I’m so ready to work on my core in class again. (Especially with Operation Momshell back in play)
Child-free Errands
Target is not fun with a 5 and 7 year old. (read: No errands are fun with a 5 and 7 year old!) I’ll be able to browse the aisles looking for stuff I don’t need in peace! I’m looking forward to getting in and getting out when I head to Publix, with zero “oooh can we get…” or “i’m tiiiiired” coming from beside me.
Me Time
I might dust off my kindle. I might meditate at 1pm just because I can.

I might go get my nails did, I may start a new hobby, I might lay in bed and binge-watch Seinfeld on Hulu.
Who knows?! Who cares! I have me time once again while it’s daylight.
Growth for Kaya
My sweet, sometimes shy, feisty little girl is headed to “big girl school” and I know it is going to stretch her. Rohan was a bit more prepared and exposed when he started so it’ll be different for Kai.
She’s going to grow so much in the year ahead and I’m so excited to watch her get more independent and just thrive.
Structure for Ro
My dear little scientist needs his dedicated time frames for every activity to help keep him sane. From morning meeting to when school lets out he will be scheduled and structured and he will love it.

Second grade is a big deal and he is so excited. I’m looking forward to his experience and growth as well.
Day dates for John
Kids at school means that when John works from home he won’t be sidelined by the kids. It also means he and I can do day dates again. I love a midday movie and nice lunch when nothing is crowded (and prices are lower!
) We will definitely sneak in a few day dates when the semester starts. Here are 10 types of dates you might wanna try
Freedom for ME
Really this is what it all comes down to. I’ve been imprisoned by motherhood and tortured by whines all summer. OK that’s dramatic, but I am truly grateful to have some freedom in my days where I just have to worry about ME for a little while. Time to be selfish!

I love this I still have years before this happens but it sounds amazing!
