Bridal Brain Dump

*  On Monday I’m laying in bed with John trying to convince him to give watching True Blood a shot and out of left field he says he wants to get married away.  (this was an issue when we first started planning a while back, because his sister wont travel and I refuse to have a standard wedding in NY or NJ) I immediately stopped my rambling about bill compton and said, “OK let’s elope in vegas then.”  (thinking he was still on some – oh i don’t want to do a wedding wedding if my whole family can’t be there)  He goes, “nah, let’s have a wedding there.”   I died.

*  So you know because of this my head has been in wedding mode since then.  I’m looking at dresses, place for ceremonies and receptions, photographers etc….but strangely his head has kinda been there too.  He even contacted a friend of his who has a restaurant out there to talk about catering.

  He also said we should go out there for a weekend to look at places….

WTF?…that’s way more proactive than I’d expect from him lol.  We’re probably going to go to Vegas for Columbus day weekend.  10-10-10 falls on that weekend, so I expect to see tons of brides running around the strip.

*  We talked a lot about the destination wedding though.  Like a serious planning talk.  I didn’t expect this from him at all.

  We decided we want to have a fun/low key cocktail party type reception in a suite instead of the dinner/dancing in a hall/restaurant type thing.  Looking so far at Mandalay Bay for both the outdoor ceremony and in-suite party.

*  Naturally, I’m looking down at my naked left hand and wondering when the hell it’s going to get sparkley.  I talked to a girlfriend and she thinks he’s going to do it on the beach in Mexico next month (vacays only 4.5 weeks away!! wahoo)….I think that’s far too romantic and out of the scope of his sweetness capabilities and I’ll probably get a ring box tossed next to my bowl when I’m eating my cereal one day.  We’ll See.

I’m warning you guys from now, this blog is gunna get pretty weddingy once I get that ring on my finger and get serious about planning this shindig.
