*Cold weather sucks and I really hate it. I’d love to live in NYC from May to November and in Palm Beach for the rest of the year. Gunna have to win the lotto and get on that plan.
*Every time some tax form comes in the mail I get so excited. I love doing our taxes. Not sure why. It’s just tedius data entry…which in general I’d hate. Maybe cuz it’s a game of, let’s see how much we get back (if we get back). I dunno…but I dig it.

* This kid refuses to play with any of his real toys. He likes paper, socks, bottles, remote controls and boxes. Don’t hand him a toy (except for his dinosaur lovey) or he’ll smile, look at you like you’re stupid and cruise away to find a non-toy to play with.
* Can we just start potty training today?
Movies
* Flight: Well acted, but disappointing. I really wanted to love this movie but it felt like a long commercial for God and AA.
* Silver Linings Playbook: I liked this movie! Although there was only one scene where Catniss (what’s her real name again?) showed any emotion as she delivered her lines, it was well acted overall. Robert Dinero was great in it, and so was Hangover guy who’s name escapes me now too. I love that Dinero wasn’t all big tuff guy typical Dinero in it. He had honesty, and patheticness (that’s not a word is it?), sadness, quirk. He gave a good showing, didn’t phone it in. I didn’t know anything about the movie before watching it and I was happily surprised. Best film though? I don’t know.
Unpopular Opinions
* If I were Lance Armstrong and I was lying for this long…I’d just keep on lying. Deny, deny, deny. And then try my best to leave the public eye, lol.
* I don’t like Michelle Obama’s bangs and I didn’t like that silver robot suit coat she was wearing either. Am I the only one that finds it strange that First Lady’s are supposed to be well dressed accessories to our President? (Not that I mind seeing – and judging – the fashion, mind you) I wonder if she wants to go back to practicing law.
* I couldn’t care less about Kanye, Kim, their baby, or if Beyonce was lipsynching or not. (Am I…gulp…getting old?!)
I feel ya on the tax forms front! Got my folder all organized 😉 And about the bangs . . . COSIGN! Good thing is they grow super fast and I’m sure she’ll have a new style before we know it.
I hope you guys get back a nice chunk of change….and SAVE IT…you dave ramseyer.
I’m almost over the cold weather too! I didn’t think it was supposed to be this consistently cold in the south. I’m with you on the Kim Kanye news…who cares! LOL
I’m ready for summer, how about you?
I am with you with all of the “unpopular ” opinions. I don’t think you are getting old, it’s just there are more important things to worry about.
Thanks Kalley! Not old…nope…not one bit.
OOooo this is fun!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one to say “why on earth would you admit it NOW?” And also, am I the only one who does not think Michelle Obama is the best dressed person in the world? I mean, yea, girl can wear a nice suit or dress….but, a cardigan over a shirt with a skirt doesn’t make something super stylish. Maybe that’s just meeee
I get it with the baby toys not being played with, girlfriend is after my remote all.the.time. And if I give her the old remote minus the batteries? Doesn’t want it. Knows exactly which one is the one she’s not supposed to have. Grr
If you’re into fitness, health, or happiness at all (come onnn you know you’re at least into happiness, that’s why I included it) you should swing by and link up with my first ever fitness friday blog hop! It’ll be funfunfun and it’ll make me smile. :))
I like her style a lot. I just don’t know why that’s what we focus on her (and past first ladies) about as if they’re walking Vogue mags or something. Oh man, Roey goes after the “right” remote too. I’ll definitely link up with you tomorrow. It’s Fit Fridays over here 🙂
I love Michelle’s bang and she rocked that coat no other! She’s more than just President Obama’s arm candy. She’s actually actively involved in her own agencies like fighting childhood obesity and hunger. She does a lot of volunteering and public speaking. The media just chooses to focus on her fashion making it seem like she does nothing except look flawless for picture opps.
I’m with you on the Kim, Kanye and Kimye baby. I think that other issues like rebuilding the job the market and decreasing the national debt deserve serious attention. Plus, I can’t pretend that a woman married to another man but having a baby by someone else is a cause to celebrate. It’s messy and not something I want to waste time thinking about.
I know she’s doing those causes, every first lady seems to drop their chosen career, and then become arm candy and pick a cause to get involved with. My point is exactly that. Media focuses on her clothes, Hillary’s hair, Jackie O’s style…and nothing more. It’s so weird. I totally understand playing the background while your Hubby does a big ol important job though.
She looked like a robot in that coat.
I feel the same way about Kim, Kanye, Beyonce, and any other celebrity out there. Sheesh!
Hey, I wouldn’t say you’re getting old, you just have important things on your mind. That’s how I feel, there’s no getting old here, just getting wiser.
I have to say that I loved the coat the First Lady rocked. I think anything A-line looks gorgeous on her. Unfortunately, the media does tend to focus on fashion and miscellaneous things that frankly aren’t as important. I don’t think there is anything wrong with pointing out that she’s an all-around amazing woman, in intelligence, education, mommyhood and fashion. She does support our American designers (Jason Wu, etc.), which is important in this economy. It’s important for us to highlight her long list of accomplishments and work that she continues to do in the White House. We definitely can’t wait for the media to do it. They like to focus on things such as Kim and Kanye, which I agree with YumMommy, is messy and nothing to celebrate.
I think when children start playing with everything but their toys it shows their creative minds are growing by the minute. I love creating games and toys for my students. They love the DIY things, many times, more than the purchased items.
By the way I love your blog. So happy we met a few weeks ago. I’ll be back to chat. Have a great weekend.
