Happy Tendril Tuesday Girls!
Don’t forget to link up your hair care posts with me today!
I wanted to go red for the fall. I bought some blonde dye so I could lighten my hair first to make sure the red would “take.” I learned from Felicia Leatherwood that I would have to go lighter in stages. So I figured I’d have to go two or 3 rounds…
Yesterday was blonding day #1
I separated my hair in three, and put blonde on the top first because I want that to be the lightest part (for the most vivid red later) then I applied the rest and waited and waited.
Don’t ask me why the top part that I wanted to be lightest, ends up being the darkest at the root ::shrug::
Sidebar: why do they give these cheap ol’ janky gloves. They might as well just not include any. I would do better with a ziplog bag over my hand.
Day #1 results:
It’s patchy as heck, but lighter than I started.
I finished up with a deep conditioner and slathered my hair in Lia Naturals moisturizer topped with coconut oil and let it air dry.
In a week or so I will do blonding day #2 and see how light it gets. I’ll be putting the dye on the darker areas first, to correct some of the patchiness, and then put it all over.
Then I’ll go red.
Gotta say, I kinda like this light brown color right now.
OK Time for you to link up!!
