Oh sweet Pinterest.
::sigh::
Soo…. you know how Pinterest is a filthy liar? Making everything look easy and quick, then you try it like a dummy and then 7 hours later you’re sitting in a pile of rubble sweaty and hungry, wondering why you ever started the stupid project in the first place?
Yeah…. Me neither. ::avoids eye contact::
Well listen. I found something pinned by the fabulous blogger and photographer LaShawn Wiltz and despite my better judgment, I tried it.
It looked simple and included only a few ingredients that I already had on hand so I figured it would be an easy undertaking.
And for once…
I was right!
This is what was pinned:
It made me nervous because putting dry pasta in non-boiling water was so counter-intuitive. So that got me looking for other one-pot pasta dishes and I found:
If Martha’s doin’ it…it’s gotta be good. Right?…Right?!
OK, enough research, time to try it for myself.
I put all the ingredients into the pot….
OK…well…maybe not aallll of the ingredients….
I followed the instructions….
And it turned out great….
I’m a forgetful blogger so I didn’t get a picture of the final product. I remembered almost all the way through the meal that we needed pics…
My bad.
But it was a quick and easy meal that even Roey loved a lot, and he’s been picky lately.
John loved it too!
So, finally Pinterest comes through for me. I’ve got a new “back pocket” dish that’s fast and easily adaptable. (I’m adding some shrimp next time)
The following day, for lunch I just popped some capers olives and peppers into a pan w/ olive oil and threw the leftover pasta in for a quick fry #win
Have you tried any one-pot pasta dishes? Have you tried any dishes from Pinterest that really worked out well for you? Please share!

I love pasta… like an insane wanna-be Italian. I’m trying this out for sure! Glad to hear someone else is being a picky eater too!! What gives boys?!
I made a Red Velvet cake that didn’t come out that well. Think I’d be better off with a ready mix, lol. Also a Wendy’s Frosty milkshake which was nice (although we don’t have Wendy’s in the UK, so I don’t know how similar to the real thing it is) and a DIY Starbucks frappuccino, which was better the second time because the first time I put too much coffee in! And the other day I made Bilss Balls from Tia and Tamera Mowry’s site but was very disappointed because they were so bitter I couldn’t eat them. So I made cake batter fudge to eat instead and that was nicer. Also Gwyneth Paltrow’s No Fry-Fries, which I liked as well.
That pasta looks good. Pintrest is very addictive, I’ve pinned so many recipes but I’m never going to make them all, lol.
The pasta dishes look really appetizing and very healthy too. I need to eat more of them
