Happy Valentimes Day girls!!!
I’m getting tired of people saying they don’t need a holiday to be romantic w/ their mates….let’s be real. We totally do. We don’t need Christmas to give gifts to our family and friends, or Thanksgiving to gather with loved ones and eat till we’re sleepy, but we wait for it each year. Why is that? Why does Valentines day get a bad rap?
If you’re single, give some love to your parents, siblings and friends! Why not?!
How are you celebrating this day of love?!
John and I didn’t plan on doing anything big. We were going to have a nice dinner at home and likely exchange cards before snuggling on the couch to watch a movie. Out of the blue yesterday he called me at work to tell me not to make any plans for today….
I finally got it out of him that we’re going to one of our first favorite restaurants for dinner. He actually made reservations. I’m not sure that’s ever happened before. I’m happily stunned.
I was going to just get him a card, but instead I found this awesome book and filled it out for him. I left it on his computer this morning before I left for work so I can’t wait for him to open it up and read it.
If you’re interested, it’s a great fill-in-the-blank book with prompts about the one you love. It really had me thinking hard but made me feel all lovey dovey as I was filling it out for/about my hubby. It covered things like the way you met, how you felt when __ happened, I love it when you wear __ because ___… It’s so cute! I know he’ll appreciate it, and get an ego boost from it. (I kinda want to buy another one so he can fill one out for me!!)
Are you doing anything special for valentines day?!
How are you showing love to yourself and those around you today?
Do you say or know anyone who says Valentimes instead of Valentine’s? Does it irk you?
