Note: this pic has nothing to do with today’s post. It’s just the most adorable pair of sneaks my friend Kim got for Embry. I just had to show you. How totally tiny, adorable and seriously unnecessary! 🙂 I LOVE them!
FIRST OFF – I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who commented, facebook msged or emailed with sweet words of concern and prayer re: my scariness. I really appreciated all of it. I’m back at work, keeping my feet up all day, and in bed/couch all evening/weekend, per doc. I’m OK to work which was a load off my mind. I’m not contracting anymore, just cramping now which is normal, and my spotting is no where near blood red anymore. I’m all good. Your prayers helped!!
Is it crazy that it’s February? 2 seconds ago it was Christmas! I can’t say I mind time flying these days, now it just means that I’m closer and closer to meeting my little man. I usually really dislike Jan/Feb/Mar due to cold weather, and no real big events, but this year every week feels special thanks to Embry.

These were my goals for January, let’s see how I did:
Start strength/flexibility exercising now that i’m feeling well (2-3x week) – Mega Fail! I did yoga. Once. Now I can’t work out until after baby. Whatevs.
Deep clean & clear out the apartment (bagging up items to sell or give away) – I totally did! I cleared out 2 huge garbage bags of clothes: and a few huge stacks of books, and some household stuff. I didn’t take it to goodwill, I just put it in our lobby, and they were snapped up quickly! And I took pics of all the items I want to sell on craigslist. Oh, and I put my clothes in bins ready for the move, and I put most of our books in bins too! YAY!
Get at least one new writing gig – I did! The piece doesn’t come out until October though! I totally want to be a pregnancy/mommy writer now.
Save $ as planned, eat out only once and stick to budget – Um…well I ate out more than once. and I bought a bed…so…I didn’t exactly stick to budget….but it was SO worth it to end the nighttime spousal abuse. And the money came from my bonus so it was “extra” money anyway. (That’s how I’m rationalizing it, I don’t care) Oh, and I paid tuition for this term’s 3 classes out of my bonus money too, so that felt good, not really dipping in to my “real” money.
Have low budget dates w/ John and friends – Did it! I went to applebees with John for the first time in a million years. Our app and meals added up to $25! Doing cheap coffee or breakfast dates with friends works out so much better than dinner dates too!
Get back to juicing now that i’ve got a new juicer! – Did it! I LOVE carrot juice.
Get more organized and speak up more at my day job – working on it. The whole scare thing forced me to divulge a lil more about my personal life to the guys at work. That’s new. (You may not believe it cuz I put my business out on front street with this blog, but I keep it close to the vest here at work)
Restart my self care regimen (with all natural products!!) – did it. I’ll be posting on this later. I’m digging these natural products! Shea Moisture bath soap…i heart you!
Read a parenting/baby book – I did, reviews coming! Now if I could find a good one for John to read. Any suggestions?
Hopefully nail down a place to live! – Did it! We move in on April 1! YAY! To Jersey. BOO!
Not too shabby. January was productive and overall a good month, despite the scare towards the end. The anatomy scan was awesome and may have been the highlight of the month for me. I have high hopes for February!!
What are your goals for February? Any V-day plans?
