Why is Rohan waking up at the crack of dawn again? Oh blast you, Daylight Savings!!! ::shakes fist:: We’ve already spoken about the importance of sleep. Why must he wake me!? *cries*
I’ve gotta say, I love watching him sleep, and although it kills me seeing what time he wakes up, I love hearing the calls of “mama! mama!” for me to come get him. We put him down around 7pm and he wakes around 6-6:30. But with this time change it’s more like 5. Still he usually sleeps right through. Being comfortable during the night in a dry diaper helps him stay asleep and wake up nice and rested.
Pampers Baby Dry is key for getting him through the night without accidents causing him to wake up and ruin my life with shrieks of discomfort at 2:30am. He sleeps through and wakes with a full diaper that isn’t leaking or so puffy that I feel it will explode on contact. They have a super absorbent core with 3 layers of absorbent material versus two layers in other diapers.
In reading about good sleep for children under 4 years old I found some tips from Kim West (The Sleep Lady) very useful:
- Make naptime a priority (we SO do this)
- Watch for your child’s sleep cues (One of Ro’s cues is scratching his head)
- Slowly adjust sleep times before daylight savings day (We SO did NOT do this!)
- Stick to your flexible schedule (We do!)
