Aaaahh September, what a glorious month.
Only 9 more shopping days until my birthday….hop to it!! hehehe
September always felt like a fresh start to me, partially because of my b-day and partially because it was the start of a new school year. Now that school is year round for me, that doesn’t apply anymore. I spent the last 2 weeks at my parents house with my brother and even though I was going to work every day, it felt like a vacation. I seriously vegetated and now I’m shaking off the lazies. (well, trying to)
Let’s see, what’s up w/ the life update for August.
Baby: C. Well yall already know, just trying and being a waiter. I’m usually the positive patty, but John’s taken over my role of cheerleader when it comes to TTCing. I kinda like it because he’s always cynical cy or skeptical simon. 🙂
School: B+. First term ended, I kicked ass on my papers. I was mistakenly dropped from my course this term, and called to fix it….then thought it must have been divine intervention (all praise be to Allah) so I decided to have them keep my money for next term Oct 24 and made sure I was properly registered for then. So I have a nice little break!!
DayJob: C-. I feel like this month I did more schoolwork than anything else at work. I have a to do list a mile long…..and I’m here blogging instead of hacking away at it. No bueno! I do prefer being busy to bored so I guess my long to do list is a blessing! Yeah…that’s the ticket!
Business: B+. Going great! Clients are wonderful, I’m ready to add more to my roster. My online business pursuits are slowly going well. I’m excited knowing that I’ll be able to make a full-time income from home within the next few years and be a SAHM as planned. I’ve got a lot to do here and I’m taking it step by tiny step.
Health: F-. I’ve been slacking on workouts still, I think I went to the gym once a week last month, and only one week I went twice. I biked at home and did some light workouts at home but still…that’s rubbish. I did start yoga again and even though I kinda don’t like the instructor I still go (that’s a big deal). Eating was OK until the past week and a half when I went on binge attack mode. Back on track now. On the plus side, John’s health scare is improving, and we’ll hear news from a specialist soon and
Money: A++. I’ve been staying under budget and haven’t done any shopping as per my self imposed shopping ban. On the 15th I’ll have paid off the bank of mom n dad for last term’s tuition, and I reworked my budget to be able to pay for school out of pocket without their help so yay. (Even though that was a “fake” debt with no interest, it still weighed on me….I don’t know what I’ll do when I actually have a real mortgage debt looming over me…or … gulp, John’s student loans….::shudder:: I’m scared of it. Yes, I need therapy.) I’ve started reading my personal finance blogs again for inspiration too. I’ll be spending money this week on my bday gifts to myself though 🙂
Fun: B+. I’ve been having fun this summer and balancing my work/school/business with it too. Fun these days seems to mean eating at different restaurants w/ friends…so I’m happy. I’ve got a mini vacation to look forward to now so that makes things extra fun. John and I are going away for our anniversary next month. Yay! Also I’m having a little get together for my birthday at a lounge so that should be a good time.
Goals for September:
- get my new coaching website content completed
- get niche site completed
- secure 2 new coaching clients
- get back into the gym habit
- fully say adios to meat and lower fish intake
- kick butt at work
- earn $xxxx outside of my 9-5
- schedule road test and drive on a highway
- visit docs/dentist
- catch up on pleasure reading while not in school
- start writing for other people’s blogs/businesses again
- take photos! I’ve been so uncamera-ish the past few months
This month I’m grateful for: Meditation, Turning 30 and feeling like a big girl, going to the US Open for the first time (even tho I’m not really a tennis fan), John being supportive and kind, My job and its benefits, Free time since not in school, Twitter (lol, seriously), Opportunities all around me and being able to seize them.
How was your August and what are you looking forward to in September?!
