It’s Roey’s 8 month birthday! He’s so awesome. But I wish he didn’t hate napping. Why do babies fight sleep? Is it bad that I lightweight daydream about giving him ambien *avoiding eye contact*
Oh girls!!! I don’t know what it is about being in Florida that just makes everything feel so much better! Oh yes I do…my family is here! And I don’t have to cook! or clean! or deal with anything even remotely undesirable! Hooray!

Johnny is stuck up in snowy, cold NJ because he has school and work. Boooo. But Roey and I will bring back a box of warmth and sunshine for him.
I wish there was a way to make these 2 weeks NOT fly by. I feel like this trip is like a reset button for me. I intend on spending my time soaking up as much of my family (and sunshine) as I can, of course, but also running, walking, reading, and writing.
Is it weird that I’m already thinking about Roey’s first birthday party? I’m both looking forward to it and dreading it, because Rohan turning one means I have to start looking for a dayjob. Bleh. Though the other day I was all gung ho about it, for the first time ever. This from the woman who is still scared of finding a sitter on sittercity.
PS: the news was on when I first walked into my gram’s house and guess what the story was: Some nanny caught on camera slapping the mess out of a 5 month old baby!! Can you imagine being at work and checking in on your nanny cam and seeing that go down? What would you do? I would end up in jail I’m sure.

Hey why didn’t any of you moms ever tell me how awesome strollers are?! We have the coolest jeep one for use at home, and John’s sister gave us her old travel stroller that is now one of my favorite things! I’ve used it more today and yesterday than I have in Roey’s 8 months on earth. It’s the new magic sleepmaker! The old sleepmaker still works, but this does the trick, and is easy on my back, plus…a lil exercise!

Happy 8 months to your lil man! He is too adorable sitting on the suitcase – DH loves wheeling Nia around on it when we travel and it FREAKS me out LOL! Anyway, I’m so glad you get to recharge in FL that is amazing. And about the stroller – it’s great until they turn 2 and want to walk everywhere and be independent, but I have to say when I do get Nia in her stroller that’s when she actually falls asleep. I hate having her sleep in it but she prefers it for napping to her actual bed. Whatever works I guess! Have a great break =)
