Fit Fridays: Momshell, Mini Goals and Motivation


I’m going to be a MOMSHELL!

That’s a mommy bombshell by the way :) My goal for this year of getting my sexy back fits right in it. I’m doing well with the fitness part of it so far…gotta get the sexyfied/glamourfied part of it underway soon.

Hell, if these celebs can do it so can I! What do they have that I don’t? personal trainer, personal chef, tons of money, loads of free time, nutritionist, private yogi, home gym, fancy gym membership, stylist, makeup artist, anything they want at their disposal  Whatever…

I’m gunna be a momshell despite all that crap.

This is my own personal challenge. But if you’re interested in being a momshell too, you should check out ProjectMILF over at TOI and Pancakes blogs! They’ve got a great project they’re setting up!

I’m setting mini fitness goals to help me stay on track.

I’m still figuring out what I’ll give myself as a reward (along with the reward of seeing my body change) but I know I need some mini milestones to hit so I feel like “Yay, it’s all worth it!”

This is just a random brainstorm of possible mini goals. I haven’t really thought it through yet:

  • Be able to run a 5k on the dreadmill in under 30 mins
  • Fit into my old dark blue guess skinny jeans
  • Lose 2 inches from my waist
  • Lose 5 lbs (then 10 lbs)
  • Be able to do a damn pullup (then 3, then 5)
  • Be able to do 10 REAL pushups in a row with perfect form (then 20)
  • Be backfatless again
  • Look good in a bikini again (By end of may when we cruise!)

I dunno, I gotta think on it. But I definitely gotta make it back into those jeans…I used to live in them. They “know” my body. (Do you know what I mean?)

  • Tue: Insanity
  • Wed: Failed to move :(
  • Thu: Insanity
  • Fri: Insanity or Jari Love dvd planned
  • Sat: Some DVD at my mom’s house planned

My calves are sore. My weight is the same. I feel better about moving more though. Can’t wait for a couple months from now when I see some results!

    I love the term, Momshell– that’s the status I’m trying to get on right there! I’m going to have to do a mix of workouts like you because I’ve grown bored with Turbo Fire.. it use to be my workout soul mate :(

    Good luck, Dani. I love the term momshell. I’m aiming to be a brideshell… Ok so I guess it’s not as clever as momshell. But I need to whip my body into shape for my Bahamas wedding in April.

    I am totally stealing MOMSHELL! ;-)
    Just keep at it mama and you will definitely be a momshell in no time. I’ve been working out like a mad woman too. How are you LOVING insanity ;-) I hate him the first time I ever did it, but sang his praises when I completed the program LOL.

      Oh, I love insanity. Right when I’m ready to pass out, Shaun takes off his shirt and somehow my energy renews.
      Too bad he’s got a boyfriend….oh yeah…and I’m married.

    Heyyy girl, thanks for linking up. I love(!!!) that word, momshell. It’s amazing! I am so that person that is always like, oh ok Heidi was in a bikini on the runway three weeks after delivery, obviously it’s completely feasible to think that I can too (NOT)…but oh well. I guess it’s a good thing my paychecks aren’t based off of my abs of steel (because then I wouldn’t ever get paid, duh)!

    Awesome goals, I want to run a 5k and have been asked to participate in a couple of them…it isn’t the running that’s holding me back, it’s the fear of doing something that will require this shy girl to venture out. I really need to tackle this annoying trait of mine!

    OMG, this blog has gotten so fancy since I have last been here (used to comment from thencameisaiah)! I want to be a momshell! Sounds so much more PC than MILF lol – My neighbor is a mom of two and does chin-ups in her garage – its intense. Anyway, she inspired me to lose 30lbs after my second. 3xs a week in the gym listening to no-so-Mommy-like music. I may never do chin ups in my garage but I feel awesome! You can do it, Dani!!!

    Stopping by from the linkup! First,I totally agree with you on the celeb jealousy! If only we had all their resources, we would be super fit! And, love that you call it the dreadmill because I totally agree! I hate running inside, outside is way better!
