(Umm…why is my son high?)
I don’t know if it’s just my son, or if this is a babywide epidemic…. GROSSNESS.
Sharkieboo grosses me out on a daily basis, and knowing that he’s a boy…and knowing who his father is…(side eye to john)…I’m certain he’s going to be grossing me out for years to come.
Exhibit A: He spits up in his mouth, and swallows it back down. (I gagged as I typed that) And sometimes he won’t swallow right away, he’ll put his hand in there and suck his hand, now covered with spitup, and happily suck the spitup back down while chomping his hand. UGGGHHHH I catch him and I wipe him off but not before he is able to swallow some of the nastiness.
Exhibit B: He spits up and lays his face in it…not just lays, but rubs…he’s fully capable of moving away from his spill, or rolling away, but no. He stays there like it’s all good, and then rubs his face in it like it’s the most luxurious lotion. By the time I get a wipey, and go to him, his face is covered and he has the biggest smile ever. Must be fun to be a nasty mess.
Exhibit C: He grabs his penis….wait…I’m all for him exploring his body, and love that he’s found a new dangly bit…but… not when I’m changing him and his penis is coated in gooey, stinky poop! He doesn’t care. He will grab on and not want to let go… And you know where his hand goes as soon as I get him to let go of his lil buddy. Yup…right toward his mouth! I have been good about catching him before he gets his poopy hands to his mouth, but I live in fear that I’ll be too slow one day. I now have to wrangle both feet and both hands into my left hand, and wipe him up quickly with my right hand during diaper changes. NOT FUN.
He’s even sweet and gross at the same time. He’ll suck his hand til it’s dripping with saliva and then try to “share” it with John and I by trying to shove his spitty hand in our mouths or noses. Isn’t he a darling?! LOL
Why are babies so gross? Is your kid gross too?
haha… I love it! And yes.. mine’s the same. The sharing of the saliva hand is my favorite. Like it’s some tasty concoction of love. “A” has started to have some stinky feet too… such a boy.

Completely unrelated to the post… I think just saw you in the Wendy Williams show audience! I live in the UK and we are a day/ couple of days behind on episodes. Great blog!
But they are oh so cute in the process! My little man did the swallow his spit up thing this morning:-) the joys of motherhood! Someday they will be too cool for all this!

Never had any issue with JJ swallowing his spit up (to my knowledge), but he did love to spit up and let it roll on to his bib and then take his hands and smear it on face. I couldn’t for the life of me understand why he did that. I had didn’t have those issues with Moo. She despised her spit up.
And they stay fascinated with their penis. JJ’s almost 17 months and I still have to wrangle both hands and feet into one hand while wiping with the other. You think it’s challenging now wait until Sharkie is almost 25 lbs and more mobile. Oh the fun. LOL

Hah! My brother was napping once & “painted” the inside of the crib & the part of the wall he could reach with poop. Be happy it’s just his hands! LOL
