Happy 3 month birthday to my sweet, precious little Sharkie. He’s such a big boy. It’s crazy how fast he’s growing and just how amazing he is. He just looks so intently at everything, I know he’s soaking it all up.
We take him to the doctor on Tuesday, but when I get on our bathroom scale with him and then without him, there’s a 15.2 lb difference. So that’s a rough estimate for ya. He’s heavy!
Size 0-3 is a thing of the past. He’s got maybe one or two that are still fitting, but everything else is 3-6 months! His tiny lil shoes no longer fit either. At least he got a couple good wears out of ‘em.
We found our preferred diapers! I’m going to post on that separately, but he’s still in size 2. I hope he stays in it long enough for me to finish the humungo sized box of size 2s my mom bought at Costco. (you know, the same day she came home with a bear the size of my husband)
He eats every 2 hours about. Sometimes less, and on some cranky weird days he starts rooting and getting testy like every hour on the hour! I know people think I should stretch it out, but for now I’m keeping with my on request feeding. We have added a bottle of expressed milk w/ a spoonful of rice cereal to his night time routine. It seems to encourage longer sleeps.
Still not steady. Before Florida, I’d usually get a 10-11, something around 2ish, then again around 4-5. Now…maaaan listen…I’m not even trying to pretend to understand what this kid is up to. Every day is a new napping adventure. He dictates it right now. And I’m looking for patterns. (and failing)
A lot better! Best night we’ve had was 7 hours straight. 6 is more likely, and two 5 hour stretches are the norm though he’s trending toward a 6/4 split. So he’ll go down around 10pm for 6 hours, I’ll nurse him again when he wakes around 4am and then he goes down for another 4 hours or so. I started an evening routine to get him down around 9:30-10. I nurse him, then read books or play, give him a nice warm bath followed by a lotiony massage, then he gets his “heavy” bottle and goes down for the count.
- being upright and walking around
- punching me while he nurses
- starting to get into his toys
- taking a freaking nap
- being cradled
- being in an unmoving car
- getting his face wiped off in the mornings
- Rolling Over
- Scooting faster, though he uses his head and it slows him down
- Finding his parts
- Swimming…ok…taking his first dip in the pool
- Talking a lot more
- I think a laugh is brewing, because we now get smiles with a “hhhhnng” sound
