Had a non stress test yesterday. Went well.
Had a sonogram…thought it went well.
‘Til the doc at the hospital came in to let me know that my baby was measuring 5lbs and change and is in the 10th percentile of growth for someone who’s past 40 weeks. He said from what he could see, the placenta and cord looked OK, and everything looked “fine” but he was going to call my doctor and let her know.
If it’s fine why are you calling my doctor?
I started to feel panicky but tried to calm myself down with the knowledge that if something was terribly wrong I’d be rushed upstairs to have a c-section or be induced right away.
He comes back into the room with my doctor on the cell phone. Her first words to me are “Everything’s Fine. Everything’s Fine.” (I guess she’s realized I tend to worry lol)
Her next words are: “So we’re going to induce you on Friday instead of next Thursday, OK?”
I’m stunned.
Then she went on to explain the induction process briefly and we set up a longer call for today.
I am happy I get to meet Embry sooner, and happy that I’ll definitely have my doctor deliver him, and circumcise him, and not one of her partners….but…I don’t know why I have this little tiny nugget of nerves brewing in my tummy.
I’m excited… but also feel like I have nothing done and so much to do all at once. I’ve gotta start making some lists and checking things off.
Tomorrow at 6pm we get the party started, so most likely my son’s birthday is going to be June 9, 2012.

I know it’s easier said then done. I’m not discrediting the hospital doctor but those ultrasound measurments have been known to be worng- it’s only an estimate. I’m sure you gathered that by the fact that you have 2 more days before you are induced.
Quite frankly the suspense is killing me- I’m glad yo uget to meet him sooner rather than later! Good luck for a healthy and safe delivery!

Yay tomorrow is the day!!! Its normal to feel nervous and to feel like you have absolutely nothing done, when in reality when you start doing everything on your lists you will see you have everything done! I will be praying for a healthy and safe delivery!!!

Awww! Congrats! The wait is over! Don’t be surprised if he’s bigger than what they estimate. My doctor who is usually pretty right was 2 lbs off, lol. I’m tiny and his head was lodged in my pelvic bones the whole time and didn’t include that in the ‘estimate.’ Just saying that to say “don’t worry!” Will be praying for easy delivery!
