26 Weeks Pregnant – Belly & Info

How Far Along? 26 Weeks 1 day! 14 (ish) weeks to go!  Holy crap! 6 and a half months preggo!!

Symptoms: The main gripe I have these days is the pain.  My pelvis, my cramping, it’s really painful and makes it hard to walk. I know it’s only going to get more and more uncomfortable, I’m scared! (kinda)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 14 lbs gained so far!!  Little man is about 14 inches and weighing just under 2 pounds! Oh and I now am bumping my belly on things.  Its big and I forget my girth hehehe!

Maternity Clothes: My motherhood maternity items came and I love them all.  I am in all maternity clothes except for 2 regular jeans (one in the pic above) that I just wear unbuttoned under the bump. Never got a maternity coat, and its looking like I just wont since we’re having a mild winter.

Stretch Marks: Not yet, still fighting stretchmarks as best I can. Using my lotions and potions to lube up real good each day.

Sleep: I’m not sleeping well at all. The dreams are crazy vivid which is kinda cool.  I have to pee at least once a night.  And my belly makes turning from one side to the other a breath-taking event.  Literally. I lose my breath turning over.  And I’m only 6.5 months!  God help me.

Food Cravings: Bagels and cream cheese with lox and capers and lemon and red onions :)

Best Moment This Week: I was finally able to discern one of Embry’s body parts this weekend.  Lil man stretched out and pressed and held himself in that position for a while.  I went to rub him so he’d move, cuz it freakin hurt!  And…. I felt a foot! It was poking so far out, and it hurt, but I could kind of “hold” it with my palm.  It was a tiny little foot!! So crazy!! He’s really real in there!!

Movement: I know this kid is going to be bouncing off the walls.  He moves SO much.  And he deforms my belly in the craziest coolest ways.  I was laying on the couch in my mom’s living room, she was in the dining room at the table.  Lil guy poked my belly up so far, he knocked my kindle off my belly and my mom could see the mountain he was making with his body all the way from the other room!  Seeing him move, feeling him move, having John see and feel him move…really are the best moments of my life.

Labor Signs: none! and I don’t want any until after 37 weeks!

Belly Button In Or Out?  Still 1/2 out..

What I Miss:  My pelvis feeling normal, walking without pain, sleeping through the night.

What I Am Looking Forward To: Finding a doula (the one we had is a NO GO), Touring the hospital tonight (yay!), reaching the 3rd trimester, moving and setting up lil man’s nursery.

Milestones: Feeling that perfect precious little foot was a definite milestone.  I think I’m hitting mental milestones, but I’ll do a separate post on that later. Started Hypnobabies this weekend!

Weekly Wisdom:  My weekly wisdom this week was me realizing that I really do need to slow down, take it easy, and not try to do it all.  And remembering that it’s OK to not go full speed while I’m baking up a human inside me.  I am not superwoman, and that’s OK.

Any advice for me at this stage in pregnancy?

*smile*

Randoms from My So Called Life

No no, Not talkin about the show with Jordan Catalano :) …..

Just some randoms from MY life…

:: It looks like I’m not going to meet my goals this month.   I am not even stressing it…I’ve got other things to stress about.

:: John was the sweetest on Valentines day.  He MADE me a card.  Made.  And he was super cute during our whole date.  Of course I forgot to take photos.  Oh and in case you’re wondering, yes, he did turn back into his old self on February 15th.

:: We visited w/ the in-laws this weekend.  It was a whole lot of playing with the kids, eating and playing with the kids.  My fave game to play with them: Spy.  I’m the Spymaster, and I set up the “plan” which is always some form of “attack Uncle John”  So there’s a whole lot of this:

:: We’re preparing for the move...and guess what…the apartment next door to us is infested with bed bugs and didn’t have their 2nd fumigation (apparently protocol is for 2 bombings, 2 weeks apart)  So guess who is seeing bugs in her house….Yes, that’s right.  Me.  Saw one lil bastard on the wall this morning looking at me he says “and what?” and threw up a gang sign at me!  So i squished the life out of him and flushed his carcass.  “That’s what, puta!!”  (I didn’t say that out loud, I swear.)  So we’re getting fumigated, I’m staying at my parents’ and we’ve decided to just start fresh and buy all new stuff for the next apartment.  It’s a real big headache, disgusting, embarrassing, a big expense, and I’m completely minimizing it for blog purposes, but it’s stressing me out so bad.  Good news is we’ll be in a nice, clean, yuck-free, spacious apartment with washer/dryer in unit very soon.

:: Pinterest has taken over my life. (I don’t mind)

:: My mom is planning my baby shower.  She’s enlisted a few of my besties to help her.  I wanted something small, and honestly wished we could have a BBQ in my mom’s backyard and be done with it…but it’ll be too cold.  I told her I want something low key.  Somebody explain to me why there’s going to be a DJ, Emcee, Cocktail Hour, and full seated lunch at this affair.  *blank stare*  (My take: She’s getting her revenge cuz I didn’t give her a wedding to plan, so she’s taking what she can get.)

:: I really want to dye my hair jet black.  I do use indigo, but it doesn’t seem to be able to darken my hair anymore :(   I think I’ll wait until I pop this boy out and dye it once and for all.  (And I’m sure as soon as I do, I’ll want it light brown again. ::sigh::)

vs

:: School is way more time consuming this term.  2 classes going on right now and 1 starting in 3 weeks.  ::sigh:: I know I wanted to get as many classes done before babyboy arrives, but now I’m wondering if I made the right move.

:: I’m just counting down the weeks until my move and my maternity leave.  Every day at work, this is me:

What’s the random happs in your life these days?

And, which Rudy do you like best? dark haired or lighter haired?  (Ignore the fact that the light haired weave is busted up…just go by color! ;) )

25 Weeks Preggo Belly Pics and Survey

How Far Along? 25 Weeks 2days! 15 (ish) weeks to go!

Symptoms: Crying for everything, this pelvic pain is intensifying, I feel like I walk like I just got off of a horse.  I really hope I don’ t look like that.  I’m resisting the urge to grab my crotch with both hands and hold it up as I walk. :(

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 14 lbs gained so far!!  Little man is about 13.5 inches and weighing about a pound and a half!

Maternity Clothes: Ummm….I know I was supposed to have a no spend month….but I went on motherhood maternity’s website (i dont know how i got there) and they were having a BOGO sale on clearance items….so I got 6 shirts, 3 jeans, and 2 sweaters….all for $92 bucks!! (plus free shipping w/ a coupon code, AND 3% cash back from Mr. Rebates!! So really $89 bucks! ) 11 pieces for under a hundo…that’s not bad!

Stretch Marks: Not yet, still fighting stretchmarks as best I can. Using my lotions and potions to lube up real good each day.

Sleep: I’m not sleeping well at all. Toss turn, turn toss.  ::sigh::

Food Cravings: Spicy, flavorful stuff,  Peanut butter and jelly, huge glasses of Milk and OJ, pad thai w/ lots of limes, everything bagels with cream cheese and tomatoes….yeah…nothing’s changed there.

Best Moment This Week: The glucose test not being as bad as I expected.  It was like flat orange soda….but extra sweet.  Granted I almost barfed it back up….but that’s only cuz I chugged it.  Also, seeing him on the monitor was great again.  He’s so big now!  We told John’s niece and nephews (7 y/o and 4y/o twins) about the baby it Aunt Danielle’s belly.  They were real cute about it.  “You’re big!” “Why are you big?” “How’s he going to get out?” “Can he breathe?” “Will he be our friend?”  “Can he talk?” “What is he saying in there?”  So we had a conference call with my belly.  And their little baby cousin answered all their questions….of course…I had to translate from babytalk to English for them.  It was cute.

Movement: My doc said he’s supposed to be moving twice a day….this kid is an overachiever.  OK, so, how about I woke up one day from his movement, but thought it was an earthquake!

I shoot up out of sleep, and look around for anything shaking and about to fall.
Me:
John wake up we’re having an earthquake

John: No we’re not, go to sleep

Me: (shaking john) We just had one, it’s over.  I felt the tremors!

John: We definitely did not have an earthquake!

Me: Well what was all that shaking then?

John:  Your imagination!

Me & John: Die Laughing

John: Go to bed

……fast forward to Saturday morning I’m half awake and, I felt another earthquake….but this one was longer….it was the freaking boy in my belly!!! I’ve never felt anything like it…he was shaking me up from the inside!! It was so crazy.

Labor Signs: none!

Belly Button In Or Out?  1/2 out…I think it’s going to stay like this until my next belly growth spurt.

What I Miss:  My goddamn pelvis feeling normal, Eating w/o heartburn.  Feeling light and agile.  Living a life without aches and pains.  The ability to move quickly.

What I Am Looking Forward To: Meeting our doula.  Touring the hospital.  Hitting 7 months and 3rd trimester.

Milestones: 6 months!!  Sharing the pregnancy w/ John’s sister and her cute kids.

Weekly Wisdom:  I got none this week lol

Any advice for me at this stage in pregnancy?

Hefty Twistout

What happens when you’re tired, lazy and preoccupied with watching Dexter??

You end up with twists like this:

Ha!

Oh, I shampooed and conditioned with Giovanni 50:50. (you know I love him)

Detangled in the shower, squeezed out water with my hands and then put on a towel turban for a while.

I used a lil squirt of Silk Dreams Leave In and a little pat of Carols Daughter Healthy Hair Butter on each twist.

However, I wasn’t really paying attention so I have some big twists, some small twists…a hot mess.

I put on a scarf and a bonnet on the back and went to bed.

Unravel in the morning and I have this:

So I wore it like this:

It was still damp and I knew it would shrink up as it finished drying, but…honestly…I just didn’t care.

It ended up being wearable.  And with the combo of hair butter and silk dreams it felt quite soft.

However, I didn’t moisturize that night…AND I just put the bonnet on that night, no scarf, and it came off while I slept….and I woke up to…:

Hide your kids, hide your wife.

So, had to go to the ultimate bad hair day fix:

A bun.

Quick n easy.

Next set of twists I do, I’ll pay more attention, make them smaller like usual, and be sure to let them dry fully.

What did I learn:  Don’t twist your hair while watching Dexter!

What products do you use on your twists?
