Happy Weekend Errybody!

Hope your weekend is going swimmingly…

Last Night:
After writing that hard resignation email, I did some wedding research, applied to jobs and watched a whole mess of TV.

Today:
I’m headed out to long island to see my parents for a bit and do some artsy crafty stuff with my bestie. I am also excited cuz I have a surprise present for her. (sidebar: I LOVE GIVING GIFTS!!)

She had a collection of rare and international coins/paper money that belonged to her father who passed away a few years back. Someone stole it!! Can you believe that shit?

Well, I went through my lil piggie and found some coins from: Mexico, Dominican Republic, Denmark, Guatemala and Sweden and I asked John and he found some Barbados coins.
I did a BBM Blast and have some coins coming my way from Malta, Jamaica and Dubai.
Plus I’m giving her my lucky $2 bill.

So, today, I’m going to give her the coins and bills I’ve got so far, and then on her bday (which is the same as mine btw — September 10th and don’t you forget it!) I’ll give her the ones I’m collecting from friends and family along with her gift.

I hope she’s super surprised!!!

Tomorrow
I’m going to head back to Manhattan in the morning and spend the day with John. We need a nice qt day. I’m also ~~forcing~~ requesting of him to escort me to Michaels to get some DIY supplies for the STDs. (ooh, lotsa acronyms) But after that it’s back to real qt. A nice dinner and movies n snuggling on the couch.

Am I a coward?

I just wrote an email to the recruiter that got me my temp assignment letting him know I would not be returning there.

It was the hardest thing to do.

Now, I’m no prude, but the jokes and comments I overheard this past week were FILTHY and honestly, degrading.

They have NO place being said in an office with females on board. (they have no place being said in an office at all, but you know what i mean)

I mentioned some things to John and he said I should take a voice recorder to work, catch em and then sue so we could be rich LOL. Nice in theory, but I kinda don’t want that headache.

My mom is an H.R. Director and her advice was to just talk to the recruiter using very specific language (degrading, uncomfortable, harassed) and get outta there.

So I did.

I kinda feel like I did the right thing, just removing myself from the situation, but I also kinda feel like a chicken shit.

Maybe I should have fought.

There are two other young women in the office in “hearing range” of the disgusting jokes and comments. I didn’t ask them how they felt about it, but they’ve been working there a while so I guess it’s okay with them.

Maybe I should’ve stood up and let them know their actions are not okay and they cannot continue to get away with it….

I dunno.

There’s something about lil kids in pajamas that makes my uterus ache for one of my own.

These pics are from Sunday evening. We went to John’s Mom’s house for a celebratory dinner. It was DELICIOUS and then she and John’s sister (The mom of the adorableness above) surprised us with some engagement gifts. It was so sweet and awesome!!

PS: if you’re wondering it was a kickass sheet set, and a bedroom in a bag. Not just a bed in a bag, but it had curtains. pillows and valance drape thingys in there too.. Gotta love Macys.

Dresses!! J Crew

Why didn’t you guys tell me JCrew had cheap wedding dresses too?

Now I must admit, the dresses on their website that I absolutely ADORE are all $1800 or better. (For some, that’s still a bargain!) But these I found are so simple and pretty and just $425!

Dresses!! Davids Bridal

So my budgy is super small for this wedding which is why I’m glad Davids Bridal exists. They have such cute and simple dresses for SO CHEAP!!
This will be the first place I visit, and if I don’t fall in love with anything I try on, I’ll look at other options.

The prices are RIDICULOUS!!! And I read somewhere that they have $99 sales. Are they freakin kidding me?! Did you guys know this store was so inexpensive? The ones here are from $199 to $449!!
