Everything But The Kitchen Sink!!

Yeah, I had to move my blog. I wanted to consolidate. Instead of keeping separate spaces for my acting/modeling, fitness, writing, photography etc… I’m just going to keep this handy blog for all of it. (I’m still maintaining my natural hair care blog though)

I’ve consolidated the older posts from my other blogs, so some of the references may be wonky….

This blog is going to be a hodgepodge of any and everything I feel like plopping in here. I read these articles about blogging that say blogs need to have a central focus or theme in order to be successful, but I say, F it. I just want to blog at random! So I will, dammit.

Why the title? Well, “OK, Dan” is my family’s way of telling me to shutup…yet I still blather on. Every conversation I have with my little brother ends this way, and I find it kinda funny. A normal person would get the hint and/or maybe take offense. I embrace my abnormality.

Mixed Chicks Wash & Go: Day 4!!

Still Soft.
Still Defined.
Still Fluffy.
Still Wearable.
Still Happy with it.

Last night I did nothing with it, product-wise. I did the loose pony under a scarf again. When I pulled back the front for this half-up look, I put a lil water on my hands and coconut oil and mixed (well not really cuz oil n water don’t mix, but uknowhatimean) them together and gently smoothed the frizzy front back with my hands. That’s it!! I’s held in place with a small grabber.

This is the last day of the wash & go, because I’m DCing today and leaving for vacation tomorrow, but if I wasn’t, I’d ride this wash & go out and see how long it lasts and stays soft.

Vacation Brain

It’s so hard to concentrate on anything during the week before I leave for a vacation. John and I call it “vacation brain.” Thoughts of vacation permeate all day long, and productivity screeches to a halt. I remember when I was working my last 9-5, my boss actually called me on it. I was taking a seriously long time to draft a letter that would normally take me 15 mins max. He just came out, shook his head and said “you’re already gone, huh.” He was totally right.

I keep puttering around, creating foolishness to do to occupy my mind, making lists, checking and rechecking my suitcase…. it’s so unhealthy. But…I love it. I love the countdown, the daydreaming of what we’ll do, see, eat, try, I love the beauty preparations of my hair, nails, brows etc. It’s all a part of the vacation experience to me. Each vacation, I tell myself I’m not going to go crazy and buy more stuff….and each vacation, I fail miserably. I raided victorias secret’s semi annual sale for bikinis, and marshalls for cheap vacay clothes. I don’t feel guilty at all

And a happy bonus. I convinced John that we need to go back to Mexico to catch whale shark season, and he agreed….so we’re returning in August!! WAHOOO!!! I think I’m going to have vacation brain for the whole summer!

Quickie Mixed Chicks W&G Update

On Saturday I did the wash n go.
I slept with it in a loose pony and under my scarf.
On Sunday I did absolutely nothing, except take the scarf off in the a.m. and put it right back on in the p.m.
Today, I take the scarf off, and my loose pony is still SO soft. It’s also defined, fluffy and no stiffness or anything. It’s awesome. SO awesome, in fact, that my guy even noticed how soft it was….that’s a BIG deal.

I am officially digging that mixed chicks leave in.
