So I had to blowdry and flatiron my hair last night because I booked a shoot for today.  I have come to terms with the fact that I’ll never have a BAA  (big ass afro) because my hair just won’t do it.  Because of this, I’m growing to love my BAB (big ass blowout).  Granted, if I attempted to wear it outside I’d come back in with a boatload of tangles, but I still love it.

I SERIOUSLY need a trim.  My setback is apparrent in these photos when you look at my raggedy ends….but I still love the volume! lol.

I’m in the midst of a set back.  I haven’t yet cut, but I know I’m going to have to cut a bunch.

I didn’t care for it at all these past 3+ weeks while I was in Guatemala.
Now, I’m truly paying for it.

ACTION PLAN

On my own:
GENTLY untwist and detangle
DEEP CONDITION like my life depends on it
BRAID UP and tuck away ends to keep em “safe”

At the salon:
CUT off the damaged ends (gulp)
COLOR my roots to match the rest of my hair lol

That’s doable!!

I’ll post photos of the updated length when I get out of the salon.  Hopefully it’s not as bad as it seems….

Going Away for 3 weeks and want to have a fuss-free hairstyle.  I would normally get cornrows in a situation like this but I tried something new.  I went to one of the fiftyleven African hair braiding spots around 125th st and got my natural hair twisted.  They braided at the base and then twisted down the length of the hair.  With two people working on me at once it took all of an hour.  And cost me $50!!!! That left a bad taste in my mouth, but whatevs, I needed it done.  When I twist my hair it gets fuzzy after 5 minutes.  This will definitely last at least the duration of my trip.  I figure I’ll keep it in for 4 weeks and then take em down, DC and go get my color touched up and a nice trim.  I REALLY need both.
