How Far Along? 18 weeks and 2 days 1/3/12
Symptoms: Itchiest belly in the world, major heartburn, super tired, pretty forgetful, nationalgeographicpornstar boobies
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I gained 2 pounds!! Finally I feel normal! And heavy in the belly/chest. (however I suspect 1lb went to right boob and 1lb went to the left one) I tried on a pair of pants and realized that my legs/butt (and probably arms) lost weight to go to the belly. I guess that’s how I was staying the same weight while my belly grew? So weird. I’m just glad I started gaining like a normal preggo.
Sleep: It’s so uncomfortable!! I am looking to buy a body pillow and a wedge. Plus it’s freezing cold and dry so our apartment puts on serious project type heat (do you know what project heat is? lol) and I’m coughing and stuffy and just 100000% uncomfortable from the time I lay down to the time I get up (repeatedly) every night. I try to just think of it as training for not sleeping once baby’s here. I ordered a humidifier though, that may help with some of the dryness induced stuffy/coughing.
Food Cravings: Hearty, salty things, orange juice, huge glasses o milk, pastries, pasta
Best Moment This Week: Getting back to NYC to show John my brand new belly. John putting his ear to my belly to listen to Embry, and him talking to his lil boy!
Movement: I swear this kid’s gunna be a breakdancer! He’s so active. I love feeling every twist and turn he makes.
Labor Signs: None and hopefully not for a while!
Belly Button In Or Out? Innie…but sadly….it’s really shallow. I’ll be an outie soon. 🙁 One lil bit of it is starting to poke out!!!
What I Miss: sleeping on my back, sleeping comfortably, sleeping without peeing 100 times… sense a trend here?
What I Am Looking Forward To: The January anatomy scan. I’m so ready to see my lil man again, it’s been too long! Making a registry with boyish items on it, gaining weight and having a real belly. Popping my beautiful baby boy out and giving him hugs and kisses and snuggles and smelling his baby smell and breastfeeding him and reading to him and hearing his cry.
Milestones: I am 4 and a half months along now and I FEEL pregnant. 2nd trimester has really helped with the barfing too! Feeling Embry every day has got to be a milestone too, right?
Weekly Wisdom: I had some wisdom…but I forgot. Maybe my wisdom will be to write everything down because you WILL forget! I read a stat in a preggo mag saying women pregnant with girls have more “pregnancy brain” forgetfulness than those preggo with boys. I was feeling smug as I read it on the train….then I realized I’d forgotten my keys at home. After work, I’m headed home and realized I left my wallet at work. This NEVER happens to me. ::sigh::
