I got to see Embry again! He’s looking human now and not like a nugget. Actually he looks like a teddy bear…but that’s more humanish than a nugget. Right? I’m convinced it’s a boy, but we won’t find out until later. I’m not even sure why I’m convinced it’s a boy…maybe because the middle sonogram pic we got looks like an alien version of my little brother? ::shrug::
This appointment was a lot shorter than the first. I’m assuming they’ll all be quickies until the end is near. I had to pee in a cup as usual, got weighed and then waited for the doctor. As soon as our doc came in we started throwing questions at her, and she was just answering them all at lightening speed. It was a q&a tennis match! I think she’s a great personality and vibe match for my anal anxietyishness and John’s scienceymedicalness. I really like her.
She asked me a bit about how I’m feeling, and eating. Told me I gained no weight and that she wants me to gain about 2-3 pounds per visit from here on out. (with the amount of bread and pasta I’m inhaling I think I’ll be fine hitting that target) She also cleared me to fly which is great because I have trips to Florida and Seattle coming up in December.
Then we got to see Embry’s teddybear lookin self!! His heart was pumping furiously. Somehow I didn’t cry this time, I just stared in awe that my lil Bunny was actually real, actually growing, actually…. a baby. THERES A FREAKING BABY INSIDE ME PEOPLE!!! But…John….his allergies started acting up when he saw Embry moving. Lots of pollen in our doctors office! Pollen, yeah…allergies….
Here’s our little one.
Next week we have the nuchal scan to rule out any birth defects, and chromosomal disorders. I don’t think there will be any, but I’m just glad to get another glimpse of Embry. I cannot wait. Then our next appointment with our doctor is mid December. I’ll be 15 weeks by then. I wonder if I’ll be showing yet?
Were your monthly doctor appointments really quick as well? Am I going to have to pee in a cup every time?
